What’s Next for Vreman 3D Lab

When I first started Vreman 3D Lab, the goal was simple: take ideas and make them real with a 3D printer. What started as a few prototypes and custom designs has grown into a shop, a portfolio, and honestly — a playground for engineering creativity.

Expanding Beyond 3D Printing

3D printing will always be at the core of the lab, but I want to push further. That means:

• Adding CNC machining for stronger, more precise parts.

• Using laser engraving to add detail and finish.

• Experimenting with electroplating so parts can look (and perform) like metal.

Basically, I want to turn Vreman 3D Lab into a one-stop shop for prototyping.

Building Learning Tools

One of my favorite parts of running the lab has been creating pieces that teach engineering principles. Simple, interactive models can show things like:

• How gears transfer motion.

• How linkages and iris shutters work.

• Why structures fail (or hold up).

On the shop side, I’m working on expanding the catalog with items that are both practical and fun:
